Summary- Animal Farm


Animal Farm is a satirical fable about some farm animals who grow tired of serving man and start a revolution to run the farm themselves. The novel is an allusion to the Russian Revolution. Animal Farm is very rich in allegory. The characters of the novel symbolizes politicians. The story is told by an omniscient narrator. The book starts off with Old Majors vision for a classless society, however his vision is violated by the other pigs due to greed etc. The three major themes in the novel is:
• The social tendency toward class stratification.
• Power- Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
• The danger of a naïve working class can create a revolution.
