I often hear alot of negative about Mxit, but I totally disagree with whatever I hear, as I am now using Mxit for about 3years and I havn't exprienced anything that has harmed me in any way. Mxit is totally safe if you do not give away any of your personal information, also, you have the choice of who you want to chat to and who you don't want to chat to. Mxit is without a doubt, the fastest, cheapest form of social networking available to me.
